Six year old Lloyd Sherman, Played to perfection by Shirley Temple has a mighty big responsibility on her hands! Caught in the middle of a family feud between her Southern grandfather (John Barrymores) irrepressible Colonel Lloyd and Yankee parents in post civil war Kentucky there seems to be little anyone can do to mend fences. But when Lloyd and her mom return to her grandfathers plantation the little girls charm begins to work miracles in the Twentieth century fox favorite.
Tender love between Lloyd and her grandfather evolves as they discover how much alike they are!
